Another Option for Teen Cravings

I would like to respond to the article “Teens and Cravings: Understand Their Perspective” in the January/February 2008 issue. The notion of talk therapy helping cravings is totally flawed. This is old-school thinking at its finest. I have been reducing or eliminating cravings for years with amino acids, both orally and intravenously.

Cravings go on at a cellular level. You have to address that or they can continue for years. Looking at cocaine, for example, prolonged use of cocaine depletes dopamine. You can easily help dopamine production with L-tyrosine, B complex, and a multi-mineral. This reduces or eliminates cravings, leaving a client more receptive to talk therapy.

There are, of course, precautions in some cases. The best source of information on this is the book End Your Addiction Now: The Proven Nutritional Supplement Program That Can Set You Free (Warner Books), by Charles Gant, MD, PhD. I have been using his oral protocol for years and it works. If you would like to learn more about the intravenous amino acid protocol we use, check out https://www.noraa.org.

Let's face it—the traditional approach has around a 10 to 15% success rate. Add amino acids, either IV or oral, to traditional treatment and success rates go much higher. I just felt the need to share this information. It really works and it makes sense.
