Another glowing endorsement for `The Anonymous People`

At last month's Addiction Professional panel series event in Rhode Island, an audience member suggested that the best way to educate affected family members about addiction would involve routine screening of the film "The Anonymous People." So it caught my eye this week when New Jersey-based Seabrook House announced that it is hosting a local screening of the recovery film, with proceeds benefiting treatment patients.

Tickets to the showing at Camden County Community College's Blackwood campus cost $12, and the monies from the event will go into the Seabrook House Patient Care Fund, which fills funding gaps to allow patients in need to receive a more complete course of treatment.

"The Anonymous People" has struck a chord among treatment fied leaders over the past year because of its focus on the promise of recovery through the eyes of individuals in long-term recovery.

"In addition to those in short-term and long-term recovery, I believe it is important for family members and the general public to see this film," Seabrook House Director of Clinical Services Michele Smith said in a news release. "This movie helps open everyone's eyes and put faces to the story of recovery."
