Dominion Diagnostics announces acquisition, will expand into clinical pathology
Leading drug testing and prescription monitoring company Dominion Diagnostics will expand into clinical pathology services through newly announced agreements with Florida-based company Aurora Diagnostics.
North Kingstown, R.I.-based Dominion Diagnostics has purchased Aurora's blood testing clinical laboratory in Greensboro, N.C., with the deal effective Dec. 31. Aurora has entered into an agreement under which Dominion will perform clinical analysis for Aurora's pathology laboratory in Greensboro; Aurora primarily focuses on testing information for medical specialists such as gastroenterologists, urologists and oncologists.
A Jan. 5 news release stated that Dominion plans to “initiate aggressive clinical research and development to launch new products and services that complement and expand upon its core business.”
“The launch of a new clinical pathology division in Greensboro will allow us to meet Aurora's continued pathology needs and better address the needs of our clients and patients,” said Dominion Diagnostics CEO Bob Garvey.
