Central Recovery Press acquires works of Claudia Black

The assets of Mac Publishing, a Washington state-based publisher of the works of renowned addiction and trauma trainer and author Claudia Black, PhD, have been acquired by Central Recovery Press. Under the purchase agreement, the Mac Publishing books, CDs and DVDs will be rebranded as The Claudia Black Library.

Black's book titles include the bestselling It Will Never Happen to Me and the children's book My Dad Loves Me. Central Recovery Press in March will publish a new edition of her workbook A Hole in the Sidewalk, featuring guidance for relapse prevention for individuals in recovery.

“Our goal is to introduce Claudia to new audiences and continue her dedication to publishing work addressing addiction in all its manifestations, while also using our experienced sales and marketing force to extend the reach of the current title list and Dr. Black's future publishing projects,” Central Recovery Press chairman Stuart Smith said in a news release.

Black will be a featured speaker this October at the Summit for Clinical Excellence's 10th annual Brain Matters: Shame, Trauma, and Addiction conference, sponsored by the Institute for the Advancement of Behavioral Healthcare and taking place in Atlanta Oct. 11-14.
