Elements` Palm Beach County center announces new hires
Palm Beach County, Fla.-based Lucida Treatment Center, an addiction and mental health treatment organization that includes a specialized program for Spanish-speaking individuals, has announced the hiring of Heather Kuhl, PhD, as lead therapist and Maria A. Avila as director of family programs.
Kuhl's expertise includes work in equine therapy to assist patients in areas such as empathy, impulse control and problem-solving. She is a certified therapist via the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association.
Avila is a licensed marriage and family therapist who previously served as clinical supervisor at South Miami Hospital's Addiction Treatment and Recovery Center. She wrote in Addiction Professional last year on the subject of tolerance in patients and families.
Operated by Elements Behavioral Health, Lucida Treatment Center opened in late 2013.
