Fairbanks VP takes over as interim CEO
Barbara B. Elliott will serve as interim president and CEO of the Fairbanks addiction treatment organization and Hope Academy recovery school in Indianapolis while the Fairbanks board of directors seeks a permanent replacement for Mark Monson, who resigned effective in September. Elliott has been serving as Fairbanks' vice president and chief financial officer. Monson served as president and CEO for about two years.
Elliott's 36 years of experience in the healthcare industry includes work for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Indiana, St. Vincent Health and Howard Community Hospital. She is a member of the board of directors for Partners in Housing, which serves central Indiana's homeless population.
“We have confidence that Barb will continue to grow the organization while staying true to our mission,” Fairbanks board chairman Rich Collins said in a news release. Fairbanks is one of the most prominent names in addiction treatment nationally and has been in business as a nonprofit organization since the 1940s.
