Hazelden Betty Ford psychologist to run clinical operation at Colo. center

Anna Peters, PhD, staff psychologist at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, will move to the Estes Park, Colo.-based Harmony Foundation and become its chief clinical officer in May, the Colorado residential program has announced.

Peters will oversee detoxification services, addiction counseling, medical and psychological care, and continuing care at Colorado's longest-operating residential treatment facility. Besides her clinical work at Hazelden Betty Ford, she is a faculty member at its Graduate School of Addiction Studies.

“In addition to Dr. Peters' obvious substantive experience and ability, the hiring brings Harmony to a higher level of national visibility,” Harmony Foundation communications director Marvin Ventrell said in a news release. “We will no longer be the best kept secret in national addiction treatment.”

Peters has worked at Hazelden since 2006. Her clinical interests include multicultural counseling, mindfulness-based therapies, and assessment of treatment center capacity to assist patients with co-occurring disorders.
