Longtime Caron clinical leader moves to Northbound

Caron Treatment Centers' longtime executive vice president and chief clinical officer is moving to Newport Beach, Calif.-based Northbound Treatment Services, with an announcement of the news emphasizing the like-minded approaches of the two organizations.

Mike Early, who has served nearly 45 years in the addiction treatment field, will join Northbound's leadership team after having transitioned to an advisory role at Caron last year following David Rotenberg's promotion to executive vice president of treatment.

Early has worked with Northbound CEO Mike Neatherton for years on building the concepts of organizational health and transformational leadership. A news release from Northbound quotes Early as saying of Neatherton and Northbound founder Paul Alexander, “The two of them have done much to begin changing our industry by creating organizational health from the top down.”

Early's transition at Caron last year reflected the organization's success in mentoring individuals as they progressed along their career path, as Rotenberg stressed the advice he had received from Early and the opportunity to take on-site MBA classes while he worked as a clinical supervisor in the organization.

Early was credited at Caron for establishing a clinically integrated and multidisciplinary treatment team, as well as incorporating evidence-based medical and spiritual treatments into the organization's programming.
