Lucida hires leader of mood disorders program
Melissa Hammer, PsyD, has been hired to lead the mood disorders treatment program for women at Lucida Treatment Center, a Palm Beach County, Fla., facility that also includes a treatment program for co-occurring addictions and mental illness and a multicultural program for Spanish-speaking patients.
Hammer comes to Lucida from the Psychology Services Center at Nova Southeastern University in Broward County, where she provided assessment and psychotherapy services. She also has been involved in organizing Florida International University's mental health outreach event called Lust-4-Life.
In a news release announcing her new appointment, Hammer said of Lucida, an Elements Behavioral Health facility, “It's rare to find a treatment center that offers evidence-based treatment and proven holistic strategies, as well as alternatives to 12-Step methods, all tailored to the individual's needs.”
