Mackenzie Phillips hired as counselor at Los Angeles center

Actress and recovery advocate Mackenzie Phillips this week joined Los Angeles-based Breathe Life Healing Centers as an addiction counselor. Phillips, who began working as a counselor in 2013, will manage a full caseload of patients at the facility, which treats substance use disorders and eating disorders.
Breathe Life founder Brad Lamm calls Phillips “a brave warrior who has trudged a long road, and has built a true bridge back to life.”
Phillips' 2009 memoir High on Arrival chronicled her battle with substance use and family trauma and her journey to wellness.
