Sierra Tucson recognized by NAADAC as top organization

NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, has announced the winners of its annual awards, which recognize service and contributions to the addiction treatment profession.
Honorees include:
- Organizational Achievement Award: Sierra Tucson. The NAADAC’s top organizational honor is presented for “a strong commitment to the addiction profession and particularly strong support for the individual addiction professional.” Sierra Tucson is an Arizona-based facility that provides residential treatment for addictions/co-occurring disorders, trauma recovery, mood and anxiety, pain recovery, and eating recovery.
- Lora Roe Memorial Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor of the Year: Sandra Farrell, MS, CADC. With more than 30 years of addiction counseling experience, Farrell specializes in substance use disorder recovery, mental health issues and couples therapy.
- William F. “Bill” Callahan Award: Donald “Frank” Davis. The Callahan Award is presented for “sustained and meritorious service at the national level to the profession of addiction counseling.” Davis, this year’s recipient, was recognized for his work with the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals and his contributions as an advocate on behalf of counselors in dealing with the Texas government and Texas Department of State Health Services.
Honorees will be recognized at the NAADAC Annual Conference, Oct. 7-11 in Minneapolis. A complete list of winners is available on the NAADAC website.
