Brightside Clinic hires medical director

David Kushner, DO, FACP, has been named medical director of Brightside Clinic, a medication-assisted treatment program with operations in Northbrook and Tinley Park, Ill.
Kushner has worked with patients with addiction since 2000 and has been associated with Brightside Clinic since May 2015. The program treats opioid addiction with a combination of buprenorphine and counseling.
“From the introduction of heroin over 100 years ago to the recent surge in prescription pain pill dependence, this epidemic has evolved and treatment needs to evolve with it,” Kushner said in a news release on his appointment. Brightside treated more than 375 opioid-addicted patients in 2016.
