Millennium expands on test to predict medication response

Drug testing company Millennium Laboratories announced this week that it has expanded its pharmacogenetic test designed to assist clinicians in predicting patients' response to certain medication treatments, including those used for addiction and pain management.
The laboratory-developed Millennium PGT now analyzes genetic variants for 11 genes that are associated with medication response. A Millennium report analyzing patient phenotype offers clinicians information to support medication decisions for more than 30 commonly prescribed drugs.
The new genes that have been added to the PGT are CYP2C9, CYP3A4, CYP3A5, VKORC1, COMT, MTHFR and OPRM1.
