N.C. wilderness program hires new clinical director

Kelly Wedell has been named clinical director of Four Circles Recovery Center, a wilderness-based treatment program in Horse Shoe, N.C. Wedell has worked in several settings in the Asheville area since 2006, including as primary therapist for a therapeutic wilderness program and in a men's residential treatment program.

Wedell, who has worked as a licensed professional counselor since 2001, established a specialized group for young women struggling with addiction in her prior role in a therapeutic wilderness setting.

According to a news release from Four Circles, Wedell's therapeutic approach blends several modalities, including mindfulness practices and body-centered psychodynamic work.
