Newport Academy hires director for Connecticut center
Tim Walsh has joined the adolescent behavioral health treatment organization Newport Academy as executive director of its Connecticut facility. Walsh most recently served as director of Adventure Recovery, an outdoor education and mentoring organization.
Walsh also is a former executive director of Mountainside Treatment Center. He also has developed and facilitated awareness programs for youths in a variety of settings. According to a news release from Newport Academy, “His unique model of engagement draws young people into a dynamic solutions-based conversation on the topic of mental health and substance abuse awareness.”
Newport Academy operates residential treatment programs, outpatient programs and therapeutic high schools, with facilities in Connecticut, New York and California.
