Orange County facility establishes women`s detox program

Leaders at Casa Capri Recovery in Orange County, Calif., are citing the prescription opioid crisis as a driver of their decision to establish a new subacute detox facility for women. The new facility extends the continuum of service in an organization that offers extended-care addiction treatment.
“Though just six beds, we sought to expand our services specifically to help people affected by our country's exploding drug epidemic, especially those abusing prescription drugs,” Casa Capri executive director Melissa Goodmon said in a June 22 news release.
The new facility will offer nursing and physician services, medication management of withdrawal symptoms, and continuing-care treatment planning.
