Rogers Memorial announces service expansions in dual diagnosis

Rogers Memorial Hospital in Wisconsin is timing several programming expansions to the commemoration of Recovery Month nationally. It announced this month that it is now offering a dual-diagnosis track within the residential programming at its Herrington Recovery Center, and has launched its first youth program in co-occurring disorders at its Brown Deer location.

Oconomowoc-based Rogers Memorial also has added intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) at two of its clinic sites across Wisconsin. The dual-diagnosis programs at Rogers offer core addiction services that include individual and group therapy, 12-Step facilitation, and medication-assisted treatment.

“By incorporating cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for patients in our addiction programs, Rogers is able to effectively treat the alcohol or other drug addiction as well as the psychiatric disorder, thus improving the patient's chance of a long-term successful recovery,” Herrington Recovery Center medical director Michael Miller, MD, said in a news release.

Hospital officials add that the behavioral specialists who work in the dual-diagnosis programs also incorporate clinical strategies such as behavioral activation and exposure and response prevention.
