Lakeview Health adds to medical staff
Ellen Ovson, MD, FASAM, has joined the medical staff at Lakeview Health in Jacksonville, Fla., where she will work closely with patients in the Rose of Lakeview women's addiction treatment program. Ovson recently served as medical director at Bradford Health Services in Alabama.
“Women generally delay entering treatment because of life experiences and expectations while the effect of substances are overwhelming,” Ovson said in a July 13 news release. “I look forward to focusing my attention on the women and creating treatment plans that will be effective in leading them to recovery and keeping them on a sober path.”
Ovson also is a former medical director for Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services' Gentle Path program. She is certified in both addiction medicine and internal medicine.
