New Directions for Women hires new chief clinical officer
Gina Tabrizy, MS, LMFT, has been named chief clinical officer at Costa Mesa. Calif.-based New Directions for Women. Tabrizy has more than a decade of experience in clinical care at New Directions, having conducted psychodrama groups and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) sessions at the women's treatment facility.
Tabrizy has worked in the behavioral health field for more than 32 years, in settings that include residential addiction treatment facilities and inpatient psychiatric centers.
“My passion from the very beginning was understanding how trauma changes the life of a human being,” Tabrizy said in a news release announcing her appointment. “I saw over and over again that wherever there is addiction, there is trauma, leading me to bring trauma-informed care on a different level to addicts and alcoholics.”
