SAMHSA announces drug court funding opportunity for 2018

Drug courts that did not receive a federal grant in 2016 or 2017 are eligible for up to $400,000 a year for five years under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA's) Treatment Drug Courts grant program.

SAMHSA has up to $76 million available for grant awards, expecting to fund as many as 38 courts. This grant program seeks to expand substance use treatment services in existing problem-solving courts and tribal Healing to Wellness courts.

The application deadline is Feb. 28, and SAMHSA urges interested entities to begin the process early by reviewing the agency's funding opportunity announcement.
