SAMHSA grant program will expand residential care for pregnant women
Up to 18 grantees are expected to receive federal funding for efforts to expand treatment, prevention and recovery support services for women and their children in residential treatment centers for addictions. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA's) Services Grant Program for Residential Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women also seeks to expand services for women's family members not residing in treatment.
Grants of up to $524,000 a year for up to five years are available under the program. Public and private nonprofit entities, including community- and faith-based organizations and government and tribal organizations, are eligible to apply.
The application deadline is April 17. For more information about program issues, contact Linda White Young at (240) 276-1581 or Linda.White-Young@samhsa.hhs.gov.
