Netflix film profiles society`s appetite for Adderall
A new Netflix documentary discusses how present-day pressures have helped to fuel misuse of and addiction to prescription stimulants. “Take Your Pills” is executive produced by Maria Shriver and Christina Schwarzenegger.
The film features interviews with numerous individuals who have used the drug Adderall, discussing its short-term benefits and longer-term consequences . It also helps to dispel the notion that use of the drug is a phenomenon limited to youths and college students, as it features several adults who have used the drug to enhance their performance at work.
The documentary also features AlternaScript, a Texas-based producer of a supplement designed as an alternative to prescription stimulants. Company co-founder and CEO Lucas Siegel said in a news release from the company, “After watching what seemed to be my entire college campus taking Adderall, I started researching what compounds could help people reach a new level of cognition without terrible side effects.”
