Voices Project Launches Recovery Mobilization Effort

The Voices Project, an organization founded by recovery advocate and American Fix author Ryan Hampton, has launched a national initiative to build capacity for organized civic advocacy around addiction.

The organization this month convened a conference to kick off the Mobilize Recovery initiative, one of 100 efforts selected for support under Facebook's Community Leadership Project. The Las Vegas conference on July 11-12 marked the start of a national effort to organize and train individuals and advocacy groups in every state, as well as Washington, DC and Puerto Rico.

According to a news release from the Voices Project, the participating individuals and groups were selected based on a record of achieving successful outcomes in combating addiction and supporting recovery. “As a mobilized, civically engaged constituency of consequence, Mobilize Recovery will turn the tide of the epidemic and create sustainable change at every level,” Hampton said.
