Partnership to End Addiction Launches New Fund to Bolster Services
With the latest provisional data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimating more than 100,000 drug overdose deaths in the US in the 12 months ending in April, a national not-for-profit organization has announced the creation of a new fund to address the crisis.
The Partnership to End Addiction on Tuesday introduced the Addiction Crisis Emergency Fund to support those struggling with substance use and addiction by bolstering a variety of resources. The Partnership has set a goal of raising $1 million before the end of the year. Money generated by the initiative will support the following resources and offerings:
- Help & Hope by Text: A personalized support and information service provided through text messages
- Partnership’s 1-on-1 support: Service provided by specialists who answer questions and help facilitate substance use-related conversations with family members
- Online support community: Virtual sessions conducted by specialists to address substance use and related issues
- Peer support program (parent coaching): Personalized emotional support and guidance from trained parents
- Digital and media resources: Original information on substance use-related topics from prevention to recovery
- Advocate network: Covers 97% of congressional districts and all 50 states
“This fund will help us with the urgent need to scale our programs and services to meet this unprecedented challenge,” Partnership CEO Creighton Drury said in a news release. “Families need our help.”
