Discovery Behavioral Health Acquires Prosperity Wellness Center

Discovery Behavioral Health announced that it has acquired Prosperity Wellness Center, an adult residential SUD treatment facility in Tacoma, Washington. Prosperity becomes the 10th brand in the Discovery portfolio, which now encompasses more than 100 facilities in 12 states, including four outpatient programs in Washington state.

Prosperity has a 40-bed capacity and has operated in Tacoma for more than 20 years. The facility provides access to patients unable to pay for treatment through insurance or self-funding, and accepts federal healthcare plans. The addition of Prosperity supports Discovery’s goal of expanding access to care, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has triggered a rise in SUD rates, Discovery president and CEO John Peloquin said in a news release announcing the deal.

Peloquin added that following treatment at Prosperity, patients will be connected with Discovery’s aftercare programs to stay active and engaged in recovery.
