The National Association for Behavioral Healthcare on Monday announced that Kirsten Beronio, an industry veteran with leadership experience in the legislative and executive branches of the federal government and at a leading mental health advocacy organization, has joined NABH as its director of policy and regulatory affairs.
Beronio brings more than two decades of mental health and substance use disorder policy development experience, with past roles that include:
- Senior policy advisor for behavioral health, Center for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program

- Vice president of federal policy development and advocacy, Mental Health America
“Kirsten's background in developing, implementing, and advocating for policies that help people struggling with mental health and substance use disorder positions her well for this role, and we are thrilled to have her join our team,” Shawn Coughlin, president and CEO at NABH, said in a statement.
