Summit Names Former Acadia President as New CEO

Summit BHC this week announced that former Acadia Healthcare president Brent Turner has been appointed as Summit’s new CEO. He succeeds Jon O’Shaughnessy, who will now serve as president and remain active in strategy, operations, and growth initiatives within the organization.

A 17-year industry veteran, Turner served as president of Acadia from 2011 to 2019, during which time the company grew from six facilities to nearly 600 and revenues swelled from $60 million to nearly $3 billion. Prior to his run with Acadia, Turner served as executive vice president of finance and administration for Psychiatric Solutions.

At Summit, Turner will be tasked with carrying the torch for continued growth, as the Franklin, Tennessee-based company has expanded to a portfolio of 21 freestanding addiction treatment centers and behavioral health hospitals in 15 states since it was founded in 2013.
