New CEO named at Origins Behavioral HealthCare
TRT Holdings Inc., a private holding company, has named longtime executive Jim Caldwell president and CEO of Origins Behavioral HealthCare. TRT, the parent company of Origins and other brands that include Gold’s Gym and Omni Hotels & Resorts, is owned by the Rowling family of Dallas.
Caldwell succeeds Robert Rowling Jr. as the chief executive of Origins. Rowling announced last week he was stepping down from the position to resume his clinical work.
“My stepping down in no way hinders the mission or ability to continue to do incredible things with Origins,” Rowling said in an email to Origins employees in West Palm Beach, Fla., and South Padre Island, Texas. “I am merely returning to that which gives me life and will focus my efforts as a therapist in the field of addiction.”
Caldwell has worked with the Rowling family for 30 years and served in a variety of roles for TRT, including 15 years as CEO and president of Omni Hotels & Resorts and 12 years as president of TRT Holdings.
In taking the helm at Origins, Caldwell will oversee an organization that provides longer-term, gender-specific residential substance use disorder treatment and continuing care services for young adults, adults and seniors. Its programs cover treatment of alcoholism, addiction and co-occurring disorders.
