Qualifacts meaningful use assurance program pays off for behavioral health

Qualifacts Systems Inc. announced today that the company’s first Meaningful Use Assurance program customer has received incentive payments for adopting Qualifacts’ certified complete electronic health record CareLogic Enterprise.

The Village for Families and Children  in Hartford, Conn., received $63,750 on behalf of three of its eligible professionals under the Medicaid EHR incentive program.

“Adopting certified EHR technology was important to our agency,” says Ed Hackett, CFO for the Village, “and the Meaningful Use Assurance program allowed us to make that decision sooner. We knew the incentives were significant enough to help pay for implementation, and we were confident we would be successful with the program, so we wanted to strike while the iron was hot.”

Qualifacts developed the innovative Meaningful Use Assurance program to help agencies overcome the primary barrier to implementing certified EHR technology – the up-front costs – by delaying those fees until Meaningful Use incentives are received.

“We know that the initial implementation costs are a stumbling block for many agencies,” says David Klements, president and CEO of Qualifacts. “But our customers’ experiences with the Meaningful Use incentive programs – over $4.6 million received so far – demonstrate that funds are available to help offset those costs.”

Klements concludes, “Our goal is to accelerate adoption of EHR technology in the behavioral health and human services provider community. Offering Meaningful Use educational resources and options like the Meaningful Use Assurance program allow us to accomplish that.”
