Qualifacts wins statewide EHR contract with South Carolina addiction services providers

Qualifacts Systems, Inc., has just released news that the company received a statewide electronic health records contract in December. The Behavioral Health Services Association (BHSA) of South Carolina’s 33 addiction services providers will implement as a group Qualifacts’ CareLogic Enterprise EHR for behavioral health and human services.

"After a yearlong review of EHR software providers, we chose Qualifacts as the company best suited to meet our needs in the diverse, complex and competitive behavioral healthcare market of the future,” says John Coffin, president of BHSA. “We are excited about this choice and look forward to a rewarding partnership that will improve efficiency, quality of care and services to our clients.”

This group of 33 agencies that constitute the addictions treatment and prevention service network in South Carolina kicked off their implementation this week and joined the CareLogic community as the 29th provider consortium. Qualifacts introduced the collaborative EHR implementation model six years ago to make the EHR purchase even more affordable, and today almost 50% of Qualifacts’ customers have taken advantage of this program.

"Our customer’s success with the collaborative implementation model is a direct result of our software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model which ensures that every Qualifacts customer is using the same version of the same product at all times,” says Gregg Boyle, CTO for Qualifacts. “This also means CareLogic customers have the greatest opportunity to collaborate beyond the implementation phase to identify best-practices for both clinical and operational workflows. The BHSA contract highlights that Qualifacts’ single platform and collaborative implementation model is ideally suited for statewide solutions. The collaboration model is also finding support because of the care coordination efforts stemming from healthcare reform and meaningful use. As specialty behavioral health providers need to connect with other systems of care, it’s easier to plug in a large provider collaborative than one provider at a time.”
