Report: Acadia Healthcare to Build Hospital in Wisconsin
Acadia Healthcare is building a 120-bed behavioral health hospital near Madison, Wisconsin, according to a media report. Citing a recently filed conditional use application with the city of Madison, the Wisconsin State Journal reports that a 2-story office building will be converted into an inpatient behavioral health facility, and a support services building will also be constructed on the property.
The new hospital, slated to open in December 2024, will provide treatment for adults and adolescents and have a staff of about 250 employees.
Acadia operates 246 behavioral healthcare facilities in 39 states and Puerto Rico. The company’s portfolio includes a pair of methadone clinics in Madison.
Zinnia Health Rebrands Florida Facility
Zinnia Health, operator of substance use disorder and behavioral healthcare facilities in 6 states, announced the rebranding of its Singer Island Health program as Zinnia Healing Singer Island.
“The rebranding will enable us to sit at the table with insurance companies, government agencies, and corporate partners as a single company with hundreds of treatment beds to engage in innovative and differentiated ways only available to leading companies with sufficient scale,” Zinnia Health founder and CEO Taek Kwon said in a news release.
Concurrently, the organization said it is also in the process of launching a pre-admission portal for incoming patients, as well as an app for program alumni to combat relapse and provide continued connection.
Nystrom & Associates Names New CEO
Nystrom & Associates, a group of psychiatry, psychology, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, substance use disorder, and nursing providers, has announced the appointment of Mark Peterson, RPh, as its new CEO. Peterson most recently served as the chairman of Nystrom’s board of directors.
Peterson previously held the title of CEO of Genoa Healthcare, an organization that has partnered with Nystrom for more than 13 years to provide behavioral health pharmacy services in several clinics. Overall, Peterson has more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health.
Peterson takes over for Mark Arnold, who has served as Nystrom’s CEO since May 2020. During his tenure, the organization expanded both its staff and geographic footprint. Nystrom now provides clinical services in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa, with plans to add North Dakota. Overall, the company employs more than 1000 behavioral healthcare providers across its 50 outpatient clinics.
