Newport Healthcare has announced the opening of an outpatient mental health treatment program in Minneapolis and 3 residential programs in the Minnesota cities of St. Cloud, Monticello, and Buffalo. The 4 locations will offer treatment for teens and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health conditions, along with co-occurring substance use and eating disorders.

Outpatient clients will meet on site or through telehealth-based virtual platforms for daily weekday clinical sessions and academic support. Residential clients live on site, where they receive clinical therapy, academic instruction, and experiential opportunities.

Valera Health Secures $15 Million to Expand Services

Valera Health announced the closing of an oversubscribed $15 million funding round led by Windham Venture Partners, along with contributions from new 6 new investors and 5 existing investors. Valera said in a news release that the funding will allow the organization to expand from a technology platform company to a fully integrated clinical services platform.

With a model that includes licensed therapists, nurse practitioners, case managers, and psychiatrists, Valera provides virtual mental health services to patients with high acuity conditions, including serious mental illness and severe depression. Over the past year, the company has partnered with health plans and provider groups that cover 12 million individuals. Valera plans expanding into multiple new states in the coming months, the company said.

Discovery Behavioral Health Appoints Executive Director for New Hope Ranch

Discovery Behavioral Health has appointed Anthony Triola as executive director of its New Hope Ranch substance use disorder treatment center in Manor, Texas. Triola will supervise all aspects of the facility’s residential recovery programming.

Most recently serving as New Hope Ranch’s executive director of operations, Triola previously spent 3 years as a field representative for the 31st US Congressional District in central Texas and earlier as the Fort Hood representative in the same district. Triola also served as an intelligence analyst with the US Army for 25 years, with 2 deployments to Iraq. Discovery noted in a news release announcing Triola’s appointment that at least half of New Hope Ranch’s patients are veterans.

Remote Patient Monitoring Platform Videra Receives Funding

Videra Health, a remote patient monitoring video platform for behavioral health, announced it has secured $3 million in seed funding led by Peterson Ventures, along with Rose Park Advisors and OATV.

An FDA-registered digital platform, Videra connects providers and patients between visits and post-discharge. As a vehicle for conducting check-ins with traditional healthcare assessments, the platform extracts quantitative and qualitative patient data that assists providers with clinicial decision making.
