Pinnacle Acquires MBA Wellness Center in Georgia
Pinnacle Treatment Centers, operator of a network of community-based drug and alcohol addiction treatment services, recently announced that it has acquired MBA Wellness Center in Stockbridge, Georgia. MBA Wellness Center is a privately owned outpatient opioid addiction treatment program south of Atlanta that serves more than 130 patients per day.
The acquisition is Pinnacle’s second in 6 months, following a deal to add Stepping Stone of North Carolina in June.
Pinnacle first entered Georgia in 2020 with its purchase of HealthQwest, an opioid use disorder treatment provider with 5 locations. MBA Wellness Center will now operate under the HealthQwest name.
Private Equity Firm MBF Healthcare Partners II Acquires ABA Connect
MBF Healthcare Partners II, a middle-market private equity firm focused on healthcare, has completed its acquisition ABA Connect, a Texas-based provider of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. Since it was founded in 2013, ABA Connect has expanded to 6 facilities in the Austin and Houston metropolitan areas in Texas.
The deal marks MBF’s re-entrance into the ABA therapy sector after the firm sold its stake in Acorn Health to the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board in August 2021. MBF was a founding member of Acorn Health.
Stepping Stones Group Adds ABA Therapy Provider
The Stepping Stones Group, a national provider of therapeutic, behavioral, autism, nursing, and educational services to children in school, home, and community settings announced this week that it has acquired Building Blocks Behavior Consultants, a center-based provider of ABA therapy for children on the autism spectrum.
Building Blocks serves about 90 clients across its 2 centers in Sacramento, California. Its founder, Mila Zea, MEd, will remain with the company as a regional clinical manager.
Discovery Behavioral Health Opens Milwaukee Center
Discovery Behavioral Health, which operates a network of mental health, substance use, and eating disorder treatment centers, has opened a new facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The 48-bed center will offer programs for adults under the Center For Discovery brand name.
The center will have outpatient and residential levels of care. It will be led by Amanda Vogt, an executive with 22 years of experience at Rogers Behavioral Health.
