UHS Subsidiary, Trinity Health Michigan to Open Inpatient Facility
Havenwyck Hospital, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services (UHS), has received a required certificate of need approval from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services that paves the way for UHS and Trinity Health Michigan to open an inpatient behavioral health hospital.
The freestanding facility, located in Byron Center, Michigan, will be known as Southridge Behavioral Hospital. It will include 60 adult beds, as well as 24 geriatric beds previously approved by the state. The hospital, which will employ about 170 full- and part-time staff members, is slated to open in 2024.
Southridge will tie into a network of affiliated behavioral services in the region, including UHS-operated Forest View Hospital and Trinity Health Michigan’s new partnership with Network180 to open a behavioral health crisis center that will offer assessment services on a walk-in basis.
Solera Health Appoints 2 Executives
Solera Health announced on Monday that it has appointed Bill Perilli as its chief financial officer and Byron Crowe, MD, as its new chief medical officer.
Perilli has nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer of Unite Us, where he led growth efforts within the organization’s accounting, human resources, and financial planning and analysis functions. Previously, he has served in leadership roles as an auditor, investor, and operator for private and public companies. With Solera, Perilli will lead finance, accounting, and investor relations functions.
Dr Crowe currently serves a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and practices clinically at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Most recently, Dr Crowe’s work has focused on the intersection of healthcare quality improvement, human-centered design, and digital health. Dr Crowe will oversee clinical strategy for Solera’s new and existing condition programs.
GIA Miami Appoints VP of Business Development
GIA Miami, a Florida-based mental health treatment facility, has appointed Sarah Norfleet as vice president of business development. Norfleet will be tasked with driving strategic planning, growth, and community relations for GIA Miami, as well as its sister clinic, VITA Recovery, a provider of drug and alcohol addiction treatment services.
Norfleet has more than 30 years of experience working in specialty mental health programs in operations, business development, and outreach, as well as consulting and collaboration with national and international partners. Most recently, she served as a national outreach representative for Rogers Behavioral Health Clinic in Miami.
