Wellington Counseling Group Acquired by ARC Health
ARC Health announced on Monday that it has acquired Wellington Counseling Group, a multi-specialty psychotherapy provider group that operates 2 locations in the greater Chicago area, with a third opening in June.
Founded by David Rakofsky, PsyD, Wellington Counseling Group provides a range of mental health services and psychological assessments, serving clients of all ages. Dr Rakofsky said in a news release that the decision to partner with ARC “came down to their ability to bring scale to a profession and industry with increasingly tighter margins, year after year,” as well as ARC’s ability to maintain high levels of care by recruiting partner groups selectively.
Talkiatry Adds 2 to Leadership Team
Talkiatry, a national provider of virtual psychiatry and therapy services covered by more than 60 health insurance plans, announced a pair of additions to its leadership team this week: Allison Holt, MD, has been named medical director and Todd Yu has been appointed chief financial officer.
Dr Holt is double-board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry, and has 15 years of experience in various settings, including healthcare administration, academia, managed care, hospital acute care, and private practice outpatient care. Most recently, she served as physician chief of mental health and addiction service at M Health Fairview in Minnesota. In her new role, Dr Holt will guide Talkiatry’s outpatient psychiatric practice model.
Yu, meanwhile, has more than 2 decades of experience in financial management and strategic planning leadership in the healthcare and finance industries. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer for Upward Health, and has also served as the vice president of finance at The Gersh Organization.
Oceans Healthcare Appoints VP and Chief People Officer
Oceans Healthcare, a behavioral healthcare organization based in Plano, Texas, recently appointed Tammy Steele as its executive vice president and chief people officer. In her new role, Steele will lead Oceans’ human resources department and all aspects of the organization’s people, culture, and workplace strategies, including talent acquisition, organizational development, employee engagement, and compensation and benefits.
Steele has more than 30 years of HR experience, including redesigning talent acquisition programs. CEO Stuart Archer said in a news release announcing Steele’s appointment that employee recruitment and retention “is the No. 1 focus area for our organization right now.”
Most recently, Steele served as chief people officer at AccentCare for more than 5 years.
