Discovery Behavioral Health, an operator of more than 100 behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment centers across the U.S., has acquired Memorial Hermann Prevention & Recovery Center and its outpatient locations from Memorial Hermann Health System in a deal that was announced on Wednesday.
The Prevention & Recovery Center will retain its name and continue to treat alcohol addiction, drug addiction and dual diagnosis patients in its facilities in the Houston area.
“Discovery Behavioral Health has deep expertise in the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, and a record of outstanding patient care that will be foundational in continuing the high-quality care for which PaRC is recognized,” Memorial Hermann president and CEO David Callender, MD, said in a statement.
The Prevention & Recovery Center joins a Discovery Behavioral Health network of programs that offers detoxification, residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for teens and adults.
