Tom Valentino, Senior Editor

Pavillon, a not-for-profit substance use disorder treatment program in Mill Spring, North Carolina, announced the promotion of Barbara Bennett to CEO. Bennett has served as the organization’s chief operating officer for the past 9 years. She will succeed Paul Hackman as Pavillon’s top executive.

A licensed clinical addictions specialist and certified addictions registered nurse, advanced practice, Bennett led Pavillon’s 6-week residential treatment program for substance use disorder. Her work with nurses struggling with addiction earned her the North Carolina Nurses Association Peer Assistance Award, which was then renamed the Barbara J. Bennett Peer Assistance Award.

Pavillon is a residential facility with a 50-bed capacity, with an additional 24 beds for extended care. The program offers gender-specific treatment built around the 12-Step model. Pavillon also operates an outpatient treatment center in Greenville, South Carolina.
