Refresh Mental Healthcare Closes Deal to Acquire Carolina Behavioral Care

Refresh Mental Healthcare has acquired Carolina Behavioral Care, a multi-site psychiatric practice with headquarters in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The deal closed on April 21 and was announced Wednesday by Generational Equity, which served as an advisor for CBC in the transaction.

Based in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Refresh partners with specialty programs across the U.S. to support mental health by providing financial backing, business operations and marketing support. RMH employs a staff of more than 3,000 across more than 250 locations.

In addition to its base in Pinehurst, CBC has facilities in the North Carolina cities of Durham and Hillsborough. Its clinics include ancillary pharmacies to improve medication adherence among patients, as well as a toxicology lab to monitor medication compliance and inform practitioners of dangerous drug interactions. In addition to its office visits, CBC services rural hospitals and substance use treatment facilities through the use of telepsychiatry services.
