The winning team received an AED, donated by Medtronic, to donate to a school, church, etc. of their choice. All teams bowled hard, and the team from Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas took the grand prize. The recipient of the AED was Clear Lake Intermediate School, of the Clear Creek School District. The AED was presented to the school during a faculty meeting on March 8, 2006. The Pensacola Review Course was a huge success, drawing instructors and participants from various areas of the country. There were 61 people in attendance. The course was very informative and a great opportunity to share information and exchange ideas. We would like to thank SICP: Jeff Davis, James Glasgow, Tracey Simpson, Nicole Shore; Misty Copeland, our local representative for Angio-Seal and St. Jude Corporation; Pam Barnes and Baptist Hospital; and Boston Scientific Corporation. Thank you to everyone who contributed and the attendees. You all have made this program a success! Belinda Trollinger, President Emerald Coast Chapter, SICP The Illinois Chapter meeting in February was a great success, involving many cardiovascular professionals from the Chicagoland area. Many of the lab physicians are also interested in being involved. The Chapter also held their annual elections. The elected leaders are: President - Cindy Pastern; Vice President- Milka Gemaljevic; Secretary -Russell Hoest, and Treasurer -Zorka Musovic. The Illinois chapter wishes to thank everyone who has supported the chapter and participated. We look forward to having participation from each of the cath labs in our area. Guidant representative John Olson has been responsible for the generous support. Please extend your thanks to your Guidant representative as well. The Keystone Chapter, serving South Central Pennsylvania, held its first dinner lecture meeting on February 16, 2006. Seventy-four individuals representing sixteen different hospitals and companies attended a buffet dinner sponsored by Steve Cox of Medtronic Vascular. Attendees heard an excellent presentation on current research on the use of bioabsorbable stents and gene therapy by Dr. Ron Waksman from the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., sponsored by Mark Myers and Cindi Miller from GE Healthcare. We seemed to have generated significant interest in joining SICP and our local chapter, and look forward to future meetings. Our next meeting is tentatively planned for either April or May.
