Cath Lab and Beyond Meeting Reports Successful Program

Cath Lab and Beyond, an annual program offered in Sacramento, California, and held April 28-May 1, 2014, completed yet another successful program, with 25 staff from all over the United States. Topics covered include cardiovascular anatomy using heart dissection, case-study based reviews of cardiovascular disease, hemodynamic monitoring principles, a physiologically based review of commonly used cath lab drugs, and detailed overviews of various diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional coronary, peripheral, and structural heart procedures. New this year, components of the registered cardiovascular invasive specialist (RCIS) certification were incorporated, challenging participants to complete various hemodynamic calculations.
