Re: Manual sheath removal and post care
I was wondering if there is any educational information you could recommend that I could share with my ICU and Telemetry units to help them to be more proficient in this area.
Thank you,

CLD posted Ms. Frank’s question on https://www.facebook.com/cathlabdigest for readers, and some of the responses are below:
Kenneth A. Gorski: “You can view my lecture on access site management at CRTOnline.org here: https://www.crtonline.org/flash.aspx?PAGE_ID=5138. Additionally, The Medicines Company (Angiomax) produced a wonderful, non-commercial CD which demonstrates correct manual hold and patient assessment for femoral sheath removal.”
Mike Weitzel: “Abbott has a presentation that reps can give discussing access site anatomy and manual compression, and the advantages of mechanical closure.”
Michelle Baldwin: “Cath Lab Digest archive article ‘Refresher on Pressure’ has some interesting info.”

Re: Monitoring, assessing & documenting
I am currently developing practice standards for nurses in the cath lab in my facility and I am having difficulty finding standards related to the frequency of monitoring, assessments, and documentation during procedures. Any information is greatly appreciated.
