High-Quality Cardiac CT Imaging Enables Structural Heart Disease Planning
This case was submitted through Siemens Healthineers.
Proper imaging and procedure planning are critical to the success of treatments aimed at mitigating structural heart disease. A large academic medical center in the U.S. performed an ultra-low-dose cardiac exam using a dual source computed tomography (CT) system (the SOMATOM Force from Siemens Healthineers) that enables fast temporal resolution (66 ms) cardiac examinations. Providing a clear, motion-free evaluation of the entire heart is required for examining structural abnormalities.
In the case below, images from a 98-year-old patient are evaluated (via 3mensio analysis software/Pie Medical Imaging) for transcatheter mitral valve repair (TMVR), in order to determine sizing and positioning for a mitral valve replacement.
