Portable ventilator
The Model 73X from Impact Instrumentation is a self-contained portable ventilator developed specifically for transport and mass casualty care. The "X" may be used with external oxygen, but more importantly, it is operable via its own internal compressor. In addition, it automatically switches to compressor operation should oxygen supplies become exhausted and simultaneously triggers an alarm to alert the caregiver. The "X" has a simple user interface that's easily managed by personnel with limited mechanical ventilation experience. It uses adult and pediatric disposable circuits, operates for about 6 hours between battery recharges, interfaces with industry-standard HEPA or chemical/biologic filters, and includes a digital airway pressure display, alarms suite, airway pressure limiting, continuous operation from external power, and more.

Lifting aid
Since 1980, the number of Americans who are at least 100 pounds overweight has quadrupled to more than 4 million people. EMS professionals, firefighters and first responders handle hundreds of lift assistance calls every year. Each time a patient is lifted, there is the risk of injury. The Mangar ELK and Mangar CAMEL from Oak Pointe Medical Products save time and money by reducing the need for additional vehicles and protecting personnel. The ELK or CAMEL can lift up to 1,000 pounds in less than 1 minute with minimal setup or noise. With proper training and equipment emergency service professionals can utilize the ELK or CAMEL when lifting any person, minimizing moving and handling risk and protecting the back from injury.

This allows the rescuer to quickly remove the bag as needed. A carry handle allows the bag to be used when disconnected from the bracket.

Radio headset

With this headset, users will experience no more cord tangling in their uniforms, less hazard during physical engagements and faster response times -- just slap it on and go! All FreeMotion headsets use Near-Field Magnetic Induction (NFMI) technology to communicate with the portable radio. The benefits of this non-RF technology include immunity to interference from RF sources, inherent secureness, no eavesdropping, and extreme power efficiency -- 20 hours of talk time.

Mobile command center
Featherlite mobile command and communication centers allow officials to respond quickly to emergency situations and remain on site for an extended period of time if required. Featherlite mobile command centers can include multiple workstations as well as a general conference area. They can be designed with multiple slide-outs or expandables that are easy to operate and provide more interior space. Featherlite trailers are self-containing with optional restrooms, showers and sleeping quarters if desired.

Swiftwater rescue
CrossLine Solutions has introduced its second generation of products for the professional rescue industry: the Reach Rope Retriever. Another significant advancement in swiftwater rescue, the new system can easily retrieve and secure lines and ropes up to 1/2-inch in diameter. Sold alone, it can be attached to any rope up to 7/16-inch in diameter, adding rope retrieval functionality to most existing throwbags. Weighing only 6.3 ounces, it can capture and haul ropes with more than 4,000 pounds of test strength, exceeding the breaking strength of most ropes.

Exhaust system
MagneGrip exhaust extraction systems remove 100 percent of the toxic gases and particulates released by operating vehicles in firehouses and emergency medical facilities. MagneGrip recently introduced a redesigned nozzle-assembly elbow that makes its systems even more efficient. The aluminum elbow, now 5 inches in diameter, has a redesigned elbow angle that provides greater airflow efficiency and less static pressure. Five inches is the same dimension as most fire apparatus tailpipes. In addition, MagneGrip's standard, heavy-duty hoses have five-inch diameters. The new elbow design -- plus outside air entering through a one-way valve in the nozzle -- practically eliminates wear on hoses by hot exhaust emissions.
