New CPAP Technology

The next generation of equipment to help your patients’ breathing is available from Emergent Respiratory Products. The PORTO2VENT CPAP oxygen delivery system is an advanced respiratory device that assists breathing for sufferers of chronic heart failure (CHF), acute respiratory distress and other forms of dyspnea (difficulty breathing). PORTO2VENT provides CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and only delivers oxygen on-demand, reducing the amount of oxygen that is consumed at peak flow rates. PORTO2VENT has a built-in pressure gauge that shows airway pressure and acts as a safety feature to ensure the patient receives the correct amount of CPAP set by medical protocol. The Jaw Thrust Brad

This new manikin from Simulaids offers the instructor a unit with which to teach the procedure of lifting the jaw rather than tilting the head, as in the case of suspected cervical spine injury. Based upon the best-selling Brad manikin, the new unit incorporates the same combination of a non-rebreathing, one-way valve in the airway that keeps contaminants from reaching the rescuer performing ventilations and the individual face piece for each student. With the chin lowered onto the chest, no respirations can be administered. Lifting the jaw opens the airway for adequate rescue breathing techniques. The head tilt mechanism also functions for rescue breathing. Product includes manikin, carry bag, 3 face pieces and 3 lung systems. Call 800/431-4310, or visit www.simulaids.com.
