NAED Announces Advanced EMD
With the release of Version 11.2 of the Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS), a new Advanced EMD Certification has been implemented by the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch (NAED). Dispatchers can become “Advanced” certified by attending an Advanced certification course, or if they are currently certified EMDs, by using a special computer-based, multimedia training CD. This CD is available to currently certified EMDs at no cost. The new “Advanced” certification qualifies calltakers to use the High Risk Childbirth procedures, along with the new Compressions First CPR Protocols and is required for agencies dispatching with v11.2 of the MPDS.
