Keith Davis has been named the new western regional sales manager for Vertex Standard’s Land Mobile Radio Division. Davis has more than 30 years of experience in the two-way radio industry, including a stint at Midland Radio Corp., where he served as government accounts manager, western-area federal sales manager and bid & quote manager. He will work out of Vertex’s Kansas City office and oversee sales in the western half of the United States, including working with the company’s LMR manufacturer representatives, dealers, state and local government agencies and national accounts. According to Executive Vice President Scott Henderson, Davis’ expertise will be applied to the company’s Product Development and Marketing departments as well…Hartwell Medical celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2004. The Carlsbad, CA-based company, which manufactures emergency medical products, began in 1989, offering a vacuum technology method of splinting extremity injuries. Using vacuum splints, the company says, reduces the tissue damage that can result from air pressure. Today, the company offers products such as the Evac-U-Splint and Fasplint, as well as the CombiCarrier, a combination backboard and scoop stretcher. In addition to the Propaq CS and Propaq Encore patient/physiologic monitors, Welch Allyn currently offers Masimo Signal Extraction Technology (SET) in its Micropaq wireless monitor. The new agreement extends through 2010…American LaFrance Corp. has appointed Michael M. Popovich as its vice president of marketing and strategy. In this position, Popovich will have executive responsibility for all aspects of American LaFrance marketing, including product, promotion and strategy. He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Charleston, SC, and report to President Marc Gustafson. “With his wide expertise in specialized markets of the North American commercial vehicle manufacturing industry,” says Gustafson, “Popovich will play a key role in further refining American LaFrance’s marketing strategy.” Popovich comes to the company from Autocar Truck, where he was vice president of sales and marketing…Icom America has named Mark Maynard its new district sales manager for its Land Mobile Radio Division. Maynard’s Upper-Midwest sales territory will cover the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. Maynard has more than 25 years of experience in radio sales; he started at Motorola before leaving in the 1980s to run a paging company. He later served as a manager in Bearcom’s Phoenix and Columbus offices. In his new position, Maynard will be responsible for generating and maintaining all LMR dealer relationships within his territory…Medtronic has announced its global introduction of a new patient data transmission product upgrade for the LIFEPAK* 12 defibrillator/monitor called LIFENET* BLUE. Equipped with Bluetooth* SIG technology, LIFENET BLUE allows EMS teams to wirelessly transfer patient data from a LIFEPAK* 12 to a tablet PC running LIFENET* EMS ePCR (electronic patient care report) to provide a complete prehospital patient record.
