This AED Trainer is Definitely Not a Toy

March 2014

When EMS providers are training, it helps to know the equipment they’re training on is the next best thing to the real thing. The Prestan Professional AED Trainer fits that bill, especially when coupled with Prestan’s line of professional manikins.

The Prestan Professional AED Trainer is compatible with any CPR manikin and can be used to train in both semi-automatic and fully automatic versions. The operational module has multi-language capability and contains the most recent guidelines. When guidelines change, only the module needs to be replaced, allowing for a quick and easy update without having to replace the trainer.

The Prestan Professional AED Trainer provides quality, durability and affordability like no other trainer in the market. Clear, confident voice instructions provide easy-to-follow directions with five preconfigured scenarios to facilitate training. The pads have an embedded “switch” which senses attachment to the manikin.

Shannon Miller, chief operating officer of My CPR Pros, LLC, says there are definite reasons his company uses the Professional AED Trainer, but the biggest one is where it falls on the spectrum of price point and quality.

“We used devices that are similar quality but they cost significantly more,” he explains. “And then there are devices that cost less but don’t hold up as well. The Prestan products really hit that sweet spot for price and quality, and we’ve been using Prestan products for about 3 years.”

And unlike other AED trainers he’s used, Miller says the Prestan Professional AED Trainer doesn’t feel like a toy. “These feel like real AEDs, and we’ve reused the same pads for well over 20 classes. They’re easy to use, durable and inexpensive – just the best out there.”

Prestan’s Professional CPR Manikins are also highly praised. “We love them – they’re lightweight and durable,” Miller says. “Students love that the CPR monitor gives them feedback on the depth and speed of their compressions, things they often don’t realize how well they’re doing until they see it on the unit. The lights turn on or off if they’re not pressing hard or fast enough, giving them a good idea of how hard and deep they need to push. Instructors are constantly telling students to push hard and fast, but there’s really no way to gauge that accurately. With these we’re able to tell individuals we want to see two green lights all the time; it gives visual evidence of effectiveness.”

Combine the Prestan Professional AED Trainer and Prestan Professional CPR Manikins for the most ideal BLS training experience available.
