Century Ambulance Appoints Medical Director

JACKSONVILLE, FL—Century Ambulance announced December 21, 2021, that it has appointed Colby Redfield, MD, as its EMS medical director for Columbia County and Taylor County 9-1-1 services. In this position, Redfield is responsible for consulting Century Ambulance on best practices to advance the delivery of care by its paramedics through expanding telemedicine, excellent education with the latest medications and technology paramedics have access to while providing lifesaving care in route to hospitals.
“Throughout my training and career, I have dedicated myself to researching, advising and practicing superior emergency care and have been especially interested in advancing the critical care patients receive during transportation to the hospital,” Redfield said. “I am looking forward to providing insight to the Century Ambulance team so that they are able to expand on their continued commitment to providing excellent care."
Redfield is a board-certified emergency medicine specialist practicing at Bixler Trauma & Emergency Center, part of the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare System. At Bixler he serves as assistant medical director of emergency medical services. He is a Medical Advisory Board member for Curve Health and medical director for Gadsden County Emergency Services.
