CFSI Announces Recipients of Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards
For the first time at CFSI, three fire departments whose members provide EMS to their communities were lauded for their services.
Benefit for Injured Calif. Paramedic Raises $140,000
AMR hosted the benefit for Bryan Stow, a 42-year-old paramedic who was attacked March 31 by two men following the opening day game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants. Stow remains hospitalized in a coma.
Calif. Paramedics Come to Rescue of Rescue 25
After rescuing residents for decades and then sitting in disuse for years after it was retired, Campbell's Rescue 25 paramedic vehicle is finally going to see some new action. The 1974 Chevy will receive a complete tune-up and then be used as an educational tool.

Lucky Hearts Campaign Provides More Than Good Fortune
The goal of the Lucky Hearts Campaign is to bring awareness to bystander intervention as it relates to sudden cardiac arrest and the need for public-use AEDs in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Since January 2009, 43 AEDs have been donated and placed throughout the county and 22 more are in the process of being placed.

Safer Transports for Kids in West Virginia
Through a federal grant, West Virginia's EMS for Children (EMSC) Program has purchased 1,000 Pedi-Mate child restraint systems and distributed them, free, to every licensed EMS agency in West Virginia. Learn how a chance encounter made the program a reality.
