SANTA FE, N.M. --

Two women killed and seven other were sent to the hospital after a crash in Santa Fe.

Officers said a truck slammed into a small car at Cerillos Road causing a pile up.

Investigators said alcohol was involved and they have charged one person with two counts of vehicular homicide.

Those on scene said the tragedy of the situation will be felt throughout the city.

"I know we all think about the teenagers that were victims here in Santa Fe, it wasn't handled by our agency, but it impacted our entire community," said Santa Fe Police Department Chief Aric Wheeler.

Two of the victims are still listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
